Taking A TOEFL Test
The Test of English as a Foreign Language ( TOEFL) is now considered to be one of the most required exams around the world.
Many universities consider TOEFL as a guarantee for admission. But even if you’re not applying to any university or plan to do so in the future, you may still take the exam and have its result as a record or statement of your English knowledge.
There are two types of the test: iBT (Internet Based Test) and PBT (Paper Based Test). The test aims to check listening and reading comprehension as well as writing skills. With the iBT you’ll also have to pass a speaking section.
As this exam is generally for the non-native English speakers quite a bit of preparation for it beforehand. Of course you may need some exam books and exam help from a professional tutor, but actually there are a lot of books from different editors to help you gain confidence and pass the exam yourself. Most of the books include CD-ROMs that feature some tutorials from the book and several practice tests as well. You may also refer to the internet and find some free online tests for further practice.
Make your practicing and preparing an everyday activity. Whenever you feel you’re ready, find out the test dates for your area. It’s important to know the deadlines for the registration and fee. To be more efficient and well informed you’ll probably need to follow the official www.toefl.org updates all the time.
So do not hesitate to take TOEFL exam and chase your career.
