Sure Start Programs ExpandThe British Government has come up with a decision to enhance Sure Start Programs since they help parents to improve relationships with their children.

According to the BBC, Sure Start programs have local flexibility and services which include home visiting along with outreach.

It focused on more than 9,000 three-year-olds and their families in 150 areas who initially had been studied when the children were nine months old. These were compared with 1,879 children and their families who had taken part in a completely different study, the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) and who lived in similar areas that did not have Sure Start.

BritainUSA quotes Margaret Hodge, the Minister of State for Culture, Media & Sport, commenting on the government’s decision.

“Good relationships help to raise educational achievement and prevent anti-social behavior. The evidence is clear that we must continue to focus our energy and resources on the early years to give every child the opportunity to succeed,”

It is also reported that the results from all conducted studies and research prove the positive effectiveness of state Sure Start Programs.
