1. Kaplan University. The main administration building of Kaplan University is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It has ten campuses in Iowa, Nebraska and Maryland, and also has centers for online students in Florida, Illinois and Arizona.

This for-profit (owned by private companies or organizations) institution offers both on-campus and online programs, but primarily it’s a distance learning university. Kaplan University offers not only online bachelor’s, master’s and associate’s degrees but also online certificate programs. It also offers different distance graduate degrees in business, education, art and science, healthcare, nursing, information tech, criminal justice, paralegal studies and law.

The admissions policy of Kaplan University is open. Eligible students can receive financial aid (Pell Grants, direct loans or other options).

More than 3,600 instructors, professors and administrators work at Kaplan University to provide 66,000 online and on-campus students with the required information and knowledge they seek.

Top 4 Distance Universities: Part 12. University of Phoenix. The university is located in Phoenix, Arizona. It is a for-profit educational institution of higher learning that offers classes at a campus, as well as various distance programs. It is considered to be the largest university in North America.

The university offers over 100 degree programs (both on-campus and online), including business, information  technology, general studies, criminal justice, healthcare, paraprofessional  education, nursing and counseling.

The degree programs are available at Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels.

The University of Phoenix was founded in 1976 and from then on the main purpose of the university has been to provide high-quality education for working students.

The university has over 200 campuses in 40 states and also Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Chile and the Netherlands.
