The author of this novel is Judith McNaught. The novel covers 375 pages and subgenre is historical romance. The main characters of this novel are Victoria Seaton and Lord Jason Fielding. The heroine of the book, Victoria, is beautiful, kind, has a sense of humor and is gifted.

Let me introduce the plot. It happens so that Victoria loses her parents in an accident and thus appears in a bewilderment. However, she appears to be brave enough to struggle with her grief and doesn’t get disappointed. She has nothing to do but leave for England with her sister to begin a new life. The two sisters separate and each goes in another direction.

At that time Victoria comes across Jason Fielding. Jason’s father considers Victoria to be an ideal bride for Jason and claims they are engaged by sending a notice to the newspaper. When Victoria and Jason seek to put an end to this false engagement, Jason’s father pretends to have a heart attack.
