President George W. Bush Library And Resource CenterRegional leaders of the United Methodist Church have approved plans to build a resource center devoted to the life and policies of the present President George W. Bush at Southern Methodist University. The Presidential Library and Resource Center will reportedly be built in seven years and will contain a museum along with a public policy institute.

New York Times reports that the center is expected to be an important resource center for both students and historians.

The center, Mr. Evans, a former commerce secretary, said, would “celebrate this great president, celebrate his accomplishments.” R. Gerald Turner, the university president, described the center in more academic terms as a resource for students and historians and said the programs would be bipartisan.

“I look forward to the day when both the general public and scholars come and explore the important and challenging issues our Nation has faced during my presidency, from economic and homeland security to fighting terrorism and promoting freedom and democracy.”
