John Grisham is an American novelist, successful lawyer and politician. Most of his novels are in the genre of legal thriller. He is known for his novels, such as “The Associate,” “The Appeal,” “Playing for Pizza,” “The Innocent Man,” “The Broker,” “The Last Juror,” “Bleachers,” “Skipping Christmas,” “The King of Torts,” “A Time to Kill,” “The Rainmaker,” “The Runaway Jury” and others.

The latest work by Grisham is “The Associate.” The author applied his law and trial knowledge when writing it.  This legal thriller is Grisham’s twenty-second novel and is 384 pages long. “The Associate” is a book which can grab hold of you for hours, unable to put it down.

The protagonist is Kyle McAvoy, who is a smart student pursuing a law degree. He is handsome, cute enough and has a bright future ahead of him. He has a secret from his past, menacing to destroy his bright career as well as his life. His secret lies in a videotape of Kyle and his two friends, Joey and Baxter, having sexual intercourse with a drunken girl. If exposed to the public knowledge, it would cause a scandal.  The only way out for Kyle is to work as an associate against a firm in Manhattan. So he appears in a dilemma.
