Master Writing Skills

Master Writing SkillsWriting as an activity should be very enjoyable. Writing is a means of expressing ideas and feelings. After all, it’s a means of communication. Many children don’t like writing as they are mostly afraid of misspelling words.

Reading, listening and writing are interchangeably connected. So, a good reader is always a good writer. By reading everyday you improve your spelling, too. Even copying a small text of short sentences will contribute to improving writing skills. Again, don’t forget that the material should be interesting for the child to enjoy the process of writing skills.

One of the most entertaining ways to incline your child to write is to draw a picture and ask your child to write a few short sentences about it. Let your child have a magazine and write down any topic he or she likes. Topics may be of personal character or telling a story. It would be more productive if this becomes a habit.

Always encourage writing by mentioning its benefits. Don’t forget to mention that good writing skills speaks of a person’s high level of intelligence. Mastering good writing skills is a key to success.

Dictations play a great role in developing good writing skills. Avoid speaking too much about their spelling mistakes. Children write the way they speak, so with time they will get used to the right spelling. Always ask your child to spell aloud and then write it down.

And don’t forget to encourage your child.
